Update

So I've made quite a lot of changes. As I started texturing I decided to re-model some parts. I felt like the cabinet should be much bigger. Also, I made a new small table, after being told that in the 1920s they had circular tables that the phone would sit on... but I do like this one a lot better! I've also made the window and curtains longer. I've done quite a few textures, and am thinking of making a few more props.

Another discovery I've made is that Maya has several bugs. Once you know what these are, they are easy to avoid... but it's definitely not fun at first when it keeps crashing!

  1. Looking good! I really like the painting hanging on the wall and the reflections in the surface of the desk. Is it glass topped or some sort of polish effect that you was going for? The inside of the open drawer should perhaps be darker and the fireplace bricks are really cool!

  2. Thanks! It's supposed to be varnish, me and sarah were just talking about it, there's a bit too much reflection perhaps. I'll have a look at that draw.. thanks for the tip. I have a long list of corrections I need to do... I only just noticed... i don't have a windowsill! The window is sitting on the actual wall as well, instead of being indented. I'm surprised I didn't see it before. Glad you like the fireplace, that's one of my favourite parts :)

  3. Yeah, it's a little too reflective to just be varnish, but cool nonetheless.
